Dry winter 2025: what the gauges say
From rain gauges to rivers, reservoirs and aquifers: the 2025 drought seen through the portal's datasets.
A dry winter
Winter 2025 brought less than half of the usual rainfall to the central basins. This story follows the signal from the rain gauges to the rivers, the reservoirs and the aquifers, using the datasets published on this portal.
Data used
The gauging network
Twelve stations cover the three rivers of the basin. The map shows their position, coloured by elevation; open a point for its mean flow.
What the data show
Discharge at the outlet stations stayed below the 2015-2024 median from May to September; the reservoirs ended the winter at 48 % of capacity and the alluvial wells show the steepest decline of the decade.

Outlook
Unless spring rainfall is above normal, the basin enters the 2026 irrigation season with the lowest storage since 2019. The drought bulletin is updated monthly from these datasets.
